Lens Work

I took this picture of my daughter on a Sunday morning lie-in. I think at the time I was trying to test the sharpness of my lens and seeing how close I could get without disturbing her. Looking back the depth of field creates a soft, dreaminess of the situation that reflects the mood at the time. At the same time the eye is sharp creating an intimacy that makes the viewer interested in the focus of the eye. I think she was reading at the time and that is captured as a fragment of concentration.
